SURGERY FOR BALDNESS

The main cause of baldness is heredity. Depending upon the severity, the baldness is classified in a 7 types. Hair is transplanted from the sides and back to the front by follicular Unit Transplant (FUT) or by follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) where there is no scar.

FUE METHOD (FOLLICULAR UNIT EXTRACTION)
Hair is transplanted from the sides and back to the front by micro hair transplantation method. Hair transplantation is an outpatient procedure done under local anesthesia. The hairs are harvested from the back of the head using magnification, by making a number of small drill holes and extracting hair roots which is known as FUE (FOLLICULAR UNIT EXTRACTION).

The extracted Micro grafts (Which are single and two hair grafts) are inserted in the bald skin by pricking with fine needle without any pain. Micro grafts produce a more natural look than the old fashioned plug method. In the transplanted area, the hair grows continuously at a rate of 1cm per month lifelong. You can have periodical hair cut and again the hairs will continue to grow.

FUT METHOD (FOLLICULAR UNIT TRANSPLANT)
Hair transplantation is an outpatient procedure done under local anesthesia. A strip of hair is harvested from the back of the head and from this, micro grafts and minigrafts are made using magnification. Micrografts (which are single and two hair grafts) are used to form the front hairline. Beyond this, minigrafts are placed. These will grow 3-4 hairs each and add to the density. Micro with Minigrafts produce a more natural look than the old fashioned Plug Method with its unnatural “Dolls Head” look. In the transplanted area, the hair grows continuously at a rate of 1cm per month, throughout life.
