Breast Surgery

In mastopexy operation, drooping and sagging breasts are tightened, recontoured and lifted up. In the actual operation, specific parts of the skin removed from the lower part of the breast and from around the areola (dark skin around the nipples). Then skin defects are pulled together and sutured. This tightens the breast.

Also the nipple and the areola are relocated higher to give a normal appearance. If necessary, the size of the areola is also reduced at the same time.

The mastopexy operation is done under local anaesthesia as an out patient.

This is done to enlarge an under developed breast or breast that became small after child birth.

A silicone gel implant is placed behind the breast tissue and the breast muscle. A cut about 2″ long is made at the lower part of the breast or at the areola (dark skin around the nipple) or in the axilla. This surgery is done under general anaesthesia and usually requires no stay in the hospital.

Instead of silicone gel implant we can inject the patient’s own body fat obtained by the way of liposuction from abdomen, buttocks and thighs.

It can be done with endoscopic through a small hole in the axilla without producing any scar.

In this operation, the size of the breast is reduced by removing excess fat, breast tissue and skin from the lower part of the breast, the nipple is relocated higher and the breast is reshaped and contoured.

The cuts are made in such a way that all the scars form at the breast fold, below the areola and scars could fade to a greater extend in 6 months.

According to the desire of the patient and if the tissues permit, either the small breast can be made larger or the large one can be made smaller. There are times when combination of surgeries may have to be done, like enlargement of one and simple lift (mastopexy) or reduction of the other
